- Next you will print up the SF 181 form. That can be found on the Social Security Administrations website. Fill out the form acknowledging you are American Indian. Indigenous to this land. Do not check black or African American. Those titles are tied to groups in Africa.
- Take your documents that show proof of your genealogy and the SF 181 form to the Social Security Administration Office. Inform them that you are there to correct your status. Give them the original documentation. They will make copies and give you back your originals.
- Wait on your new social security card to come in the mail. Don’t be alarmed that your new social security card has the same ×××-××-×××× number. It’s tied to your SS “account”. When you look on the back you will notice the red numbers are different. You status is now corrected with the social security administration. There are many other agency to correct your status with. DMV, schools you attend, Attorney General and most people I hear sends it to the Pope. I didn’t I was too busy claiming ownership of my birth certificate to add to my Trust.
